What is the One World Religion?
For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. 4 They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. (2 Timothy 4: 3-4) (NIV)
The Holy Bible warns that at the end of this age many of God’s people will abandon their faith in God. They will be led astray and will commit spiritual adultery by worshiping other gods. No longer faithful to God, they engage in behaviors that are abominable in God’s eyes.
Over the past 50+ years, people have increasingly fallen away from God and chosen to follow after their own desires. The end of this age is rapidly approaching.
The Great Apostasy
3 Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away [the great apostasy] comes first, and the man of sin [the Antichrist] is revealed, the son of perdition, 4 who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God. (2 Thessalonians 2: 3-4) (NKJV)
The time of Great Tribulation will not occur until certain events take place. First, there will be a significant falling away from the church. This great apostasy appears to take place when the one world religion is established.
The foundation for the one world religion of tolerance has already being laid. But it will take something major to get the nations of the world to surrender their sovereignty to a religious co-op. More than likely, the one world religion will be a result of the 7 year treaty that is made after the 6th Trumpet war.
According to Daniel 9 the contemptible person (aka Antichrist) will be part of setting up the treaty. Halfway through the 7 year treaty, the Antichrist will be revealed when he puts an end to animal sacrifice and sets up the abomination that causes desolation. Immediately after the abomination that causes desolation is set up, the Great Tribulation begins.
The 7 Churches
In Revelation 1-3, Jesus addresses 7 Christian churches and warns them about going astray. At the end of this age, 6 of the 7 the churches will be tested. Only one of the churches will be kept from the hour of trial (the Great Tribulation) because of their faithfulness. It does not say exactly how that church will be kept from the trial.
19 Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent. (Revelation 3: 19)
The Unfaithful
During the end times, many churches that had been based upon the Holy Bible will change their doctrines. The unfaithful churches that pervert and/or ignore God’s words are referred to as harlots (aka whores, prostitutes).
5 The name written on her forehead was a mystery: “Babylon the great, the mother of prostitutes, and of the abominations of the earth.” (Revelation 17: 5) (NIV)
When Revelation 17 describes the “mother of prostitutes and earth’s abominations” it is referring to the “mother” church that leads the other Christian churches astray. Historically, the Catholic church considers itself to be the mother of all Christian churches. Historically, each pope makes his mark based on the changes he makes in the Catholic church’s doctrines.
In 1517, a German monk named Martin Luther questioned the Catholic church because several of their doctrines were not Biblical. They responded by declaring him a heretic and excommunicating him. This resulted in the Protestant Reformation movement. Today, about one third of the world’s population call themselves Christians. About half of them are Protestants.
18 The woman you saw is the great city that rules over the kings of the earth. (Revelation 17: 18) (NIV)
The “mother of prostitutes” is also referred to as a geographical location (a city) called “mystery Babylon.” It is the location from which the one world religion is dictated and enforced. If the pope is responsible for the formation of mystery Babylon, it follows that the most likely location for the one world religion would be Vatican city.
Although Pope Francis is a strong advocate for the establishment of a universal religion, he probably won’t be in charge of the one world religion. The prophecy does not describe the great prostitute as a person, therefore it is more likely to be a cooperative without any specific head.
Mystery Babylon is most likely the result of the 7-year peace treaty created to end the 6th Trumpet war. Revelation 9 says that the 6th Trumpet war will originate at the Euphrates river, involve an army of 200 million soldiers, and result in the death of one third of mankind.
To reach that level of carnage, the war would most likely involve nuclear weapons. If it is a long war that lasts for several years, the nuclear weapons would not be used until the final days of that war. Lest the world be entirely destroyed, peace will be demanded at any cost.
The Cost of World Peace
If the 6th Trumpet war that originates from the Euphrates river is motivated by religious zealots (e.g. a jihad “holy” war that originated at the Euphrates on 9/11/2001), then the peace treaty would emphasize the need for religious tolerance. As such, all religions would be embraced. No one would be allowed to speak against any other religion.
2 With her the kings of the earth committed adultery, and the inhabitants of the earth were intoxicated with the wine of her adulteries. (Revelation 17: 2) (NIV)
This peace-initiated mandate will be aggressively and violently enforced at a geographical location called “mystery Babylon.” It will rule over the kings of the earth. The nations of the world surrender their sovereignty and agree to the treaty’s religious tolerance mandate in order to avoid another nuclear war that could completely destroy the earth.
Mystery Babylon will dictate and enforce a religious doctrine that the world must follow. It will tell people that its okay to worship whatever gods they desire. This anything-goes religion would likely require that everyone accept all religions. No one would be allowed to speak against any other religion. If you were to say that your religion was true and others were not based on truth, you would be accused of hate speech.
6 I saw that the woman was drunk with the blood of God’s holy people, the blood of those who bore testimony to Jesus. (Revelation 17: 6)
Those who remain faithful to God and attempt to speak the truth will be considered religious extremists. They will be severely persecuted. Many will be killed (aka martyred). Some will be taken captive (aka imprisoned or made into slaves). This describes the time of Great Tribulation.
10 If anyone is to be taken captive, to captivity he goes; if anyone is to be slain with the sword, with the sword must he be slain. Here is a call for the endurance and faith of the saints. (Revelation 13: 10) (ESV)
What is Abominable to God?
Mystery Babylon will encourage people to engage in behaviors that are abominable in God’s eyes. The Holy Bible clearly describes things that God says are detestable to Him. Unfortunately, our ungodly and politically-correct world does not agree. The following information may be offensive but we’d rather risk offending people than let them perish.
Please note that because Jesus fulfilled the law and created a new covenant, the punishments in the Old Testament that the Jews were instructed to enforce no longer apply. However, those sins are still detestable in God’s eyes and God will be the One to pass judgment regarding the sin.
12 So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God. (Romans 14: 12) (NIV)
Christians are not to judge nonbelievers – that is up to God. But Christians are to hold one another accountable and to stay away from fellow Christians who insist on continuing in their sin. In addition, we are to speak the truth in love to those who do not know the truth. But we are not to judge nonbelievers. God judges them.
11 But now I have written to you not to keep company with anyone named a brother, who is sexually immoral, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner—not even to eat with such a person. 12 For what have I to do with judging those also who are outside? Do you not judge those who are inside? 13 But those who are outside God judges. Therefore “put away from yourselves the evil person.” (1 Corinthians 5: 11-13) (NIV)
According to the Holy Bible, God says that the following things are detestable to Him:
Dishonesty / Deceit
16 For all who do such things, all who act dishonestly, are an abomination to the Lord your God. (Deuteronomy 25: 16) (ESV)
31 Do not envy a man of violence and do not choose any of his ways, 32 for the devious person is an abomination to the Lord, but the upright are in his confidence. (Proverbs 3: 31-32) (ESV)
Idolatry
16 They stirred him to jealousy with strange gods; with abominations they provoked him to anger. 17 They sacrificed to demons that were no gods, to gods they had never known, to new gods that had come recently, whom your fathers had never dreaded. (Deuteronomy 32: 16-17) (ESV)
Adultery
10 “If a man commits adultery with the wife of his neighbor, both the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death. (Leviticus 20: 10) (ESV)
Prostitution
17 “None of the daughters of Israel shall be a cult prostitute, and none of the sons of Israel shall be a cult prostitute. 18 You shall not bring the fee of a prostitute or the wages of a dog [male prostitute] into the house of the Lord your God in payment for any vow, for both of these are an abomination to the Lord your God. (Deuteronomy 23: 17-18) (ESV)
Homosexuality
13 If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them. (Leviticus 20: 13) (ESV)
Cross-dressing / Transgender
5 “A woman shall not wear a man’s garment, nor shall a man put on a woman’s cloak, for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord your God. (Deuteronomy 22: 5) (ESV)
Incest
11 If a man lies with his father’s wife, he has uncovered his father’s nakedness; both of them shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them. 12 If a man lies with his daughter-in-law, both of them shall surely be put to death; they have committed perversion; their blood is upon them. (Leviticus 20: 11-12) (ESV)
14 If a man takes a woman and her mother also, it is depravity; he and they shall be burned with fire, that there may be no depravity among you. (Leviticus 20: 14) (ESV)
Bestiality
15 If a man lies with an animal, he shall surely be put to death, and you shall kill the animal. 16 If a woman approaches any animal and lies with it, you shall kill the woman and the animal; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them. (Leviticus 20: 15-16) (ESV)
Magical Arts & Human Sacrifice
9 “When you come into the land that the Lord your God is giving you, you shall not learn to follow the abominable practices of those nations. 10 There shall not be found among you anyone who burns his son or his daughter as an offering, anyone who practices divination or tells fortunes or interprets omens, or a sorcerer 11 or a charmer or a medium or a necromancer or one who inquires of the dead, 12 for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord. And because of these abominations the Lord your God is driving them out before you. (Deuteronomy 18: 9-12) (ESV)
Arrogance, Lying, Murder, Wickedness, False Witness, Discord
16 There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him:
17 haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 18 a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, 19 a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers. (Proverbs 6: 16-19) (ESV)5 Everyone who is arrogant in heart is an abomination to the Lord; be assured, he will not go unpunished. (Proverbs 16: 5) (ESV)
Murderers, Idolaters, Sorcerers, Liars, Sexually Immoral
14 Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life and that they may enter the city by the gates. 15 Outside are the dogs and sorcerers and the sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood. (Revelation 22: 14-15) (ESV)
God’s Wrath on Unrighteousness
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19 because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. 20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, 21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23 and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things. (Romans 1: 18-23) (NKJV)
24 Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, 25 who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. (Romans 1: 24-25) (NKJV)
26 For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. 27 Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due. (Romans 1: 26-27) (NKJV)
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; 29 being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, 30 backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; 32 who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them. (Romans 1: 28-32) (NKJV)
9 The coming of the lawless one [the Antichrist] is by the activity of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders, 10 and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11 Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false, 12 in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness. ( 2 Thessalonians 2: 9-12) (ESV)
The Parable of the Sower Explained
11 “Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. 12 Those by the wayside are the ones who hear; then the devil comes and takes away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. 13 But the ones on the rock are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, who believe for a while and in time of temptation fall away. 14 Now the ones that fell among thorns are those who, when they have heard, go out and are choked with cares, riches, and pleasures of life, and bring no fruit to maturity. 15 But the ones that fell on the good ground are those who, having heard the word with a noble and good heart, keep it and bear fruit with patience. (Luke 8: 11-15) (NKJV)
When people hear the truth about God, the devil tries to steal it out of their hearts. Others gladly receive the word and believe for a while but then fall away when the devil tempts them. Still others hear the word but allow worries and pleasures to interfere with maturing and bearing fruit. But the goal is to hear the word with a good heart, keep it, and bear fruit.
Warning Against Falling Away
11 We have much to say about this, but it is hard to make it clear to you because you no longer try to understand. 12 In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over again. You need milk, not solid food! 13 Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. 14 But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil. (Hebrews 5: 11-14) (NIV)
Many people who have been Christians for years are still on milk. In order to not fall away, Christians need to be on solid food, not milk. This means that Christians need to know what God’s word says so that they can mature and be able to distinguish good from evil.
The Great Commission
19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. (Matthew 28: 19-20) (NKJV)
Please help people know the truth before it is too late. And know that no matter what the future holds, Jesus Christ will continue to be with his followers “even unto the end of the age.”
