What is the 7th Trumpet?
The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, which said: “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah, and he will reign for ever and ever.” (Revelation 11: 15)
16 And the twenty-four elders, who were seated on their thrones before God, fell on their faces and worshiped God, 17 saying: “We give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty, the One who is and who was, because you have taken your great power and have begun to reign. (Revelation 11: 16-17)
The End of this Age
The 7th Trumpet announces the end of the age. The kingdom of this world is over. The kingdom of the Lord and his Messiah (Jesus Christ) now begins. The 7th Trumpet heralds the beginning of God’s eternal reign.
18 The nations were angry, and your wrath has come. The time has come for judging the dead, and for rewarding your servants the prophets and your people who revere your name, both great and small— and for destroying those who destroy the earth.” (Revelation 11: 18)
The Nations were Angry
The “nations were angry.” When the nations became angry, they blasphemed God, severely persecuted God’s people, and destroyed the earth. The climax of the angry nations is when they gather at Armageddon with the intent of annihilating the remnant of Israel. God will stop the world’s armies from achieving that goal.
God passes Judgment
The time has come for “judging the dead.” God is very angry with the nations for shedding the blood of his servants. God is also angry because of the blasphemy and abominations the nations committed during the Great Tribulation. The time has come for God to judge the people of the world. God will pour out his wrath for the evil they have done.
God rewards His servants
The time has also come for “rewarding your servants.” God will reward his servants: the prophets and those people who revere his name. These are the people who remained faithful to God and obeyed his commands.
19 Then God’s temple in heaven was opened, and within his temple was seen the ark of his covenant. And there came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, an earthquake and a severe hailstorm. (Revelation 11: 19)
When God establishes his kingdom, he will begin by judging the world. After passing judgment, God will unleash his wrath and cleanse the world of evil. This event begins with lightning, rumblings, thunder, an earthquake, and a severe hailstorm.
